Victor L. "Jim" Pence
(b Feb. 24, 1911, d. Feb. 11, 1997)
Victor L. "Jim" Pence, 85, of Sullivan, died Tuesday evening at Bucyrus Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Ashland County, the son of Ralph B. and Mollie Laughery Pence.
He had worked at Hess & Clark and retired as a self-employed contractor working in the Ashland County area.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Betty Pence of Greenwich and James and Shelby Pence of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Pence of Sandusky and Ralph Jr. Pence of Springfield; three sisters, Kathryn Figley and Mary Warner, both of Ashland and Margie Folson of Georgia.
On Feb. 13, 1936, he was married to Anna Fry, who preceded him in death Feb. 15, 1974. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Clark and Shirley Morris.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Gilbert-Van Hove Funeral Home with paster John Bouquet officiating.
Burial will be in Nankin Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home Friday.
The family suggest memorial contributions may be made to North Central Ohio Alzheimers Association, One Marion Ave., Mansfield 44903.
