Richard L. Forbush
(Mar. 11, 1942 - Nov. 10, 2021)

Richard L. "Dicker" Forbush, 79 of Ashland passed away on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2021 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born on March 11, 1942 the son of the late Norman and Mary (nee Sigsby) Forbush.

Dicker proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict in Germany from 1960 to 1964.

He retired after more than 30 years of service from Glen Smith Builders as a trim carpenter. Following his retirement he started his own company, Styx Valley Fencing, Decking, and Railing and owned and operated it for more than five years.

Dicker married the former Vicky Fry on June 29, 2001. Throughout his life, he has enjoyed golfing at Rolling Acres and was an avid woodworker, deer hunter, and a volunteer paramedic and firefighter in Brunswick.

He was a coach for his sons' sports teams in his earlier years and loved watching his grandchildren sporting events. Dicker was a member of Eagle's Dlub aerie #2178 in Ashland.

Dicker is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Vicky Forbush of Ashland; two daughters, Lisa (Ron) Haley of West Salem and Robin (Derik) Dileo of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; six sons, Greg (Kit) Forbush of Polk, Glen Forbush of Ashland, Kevin (Amanda) Forbush of Columbus, Keith (Lisa) Forbush of Wellington, William Oehling of West Salem, and Todd (Wendy) Enderby of Nova; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Don (Pat) Forbush of Elyria, Bob (Margaret) Forbush of GulfPort, Mississippi, and Wayne (Georgia) Forbush of Elyria.

In addition to his parents, Dicker is preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank Regal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mapleton High School Wrestling Team Boosters, 1 Mountie Drive, Ashland Ohio 44805.
