Raymond G. Budd, 84,lifetime area farmerRaymond George Budd, 84, of rural Ashland died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at his residence. Born Dec. 6, 1919, in Ashland County, he was the son of Rallie P. and Golda Fern Newcomer Budd. Mr. Budd served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European/African Theatres. He was a farmer all his life. He was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the Savannah Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5692 and Yesteryear Antique Farm Machinery Club. Surving are his wife, Lois Markel Budd, to whom he was married March 5, 1950; three daughters and one son-in-law, Janet Wickham, Diana L. Budd and her friend Jim Rudish and Julie A. and Dale Woodgerd, all of Ashland; and one brother, Howard Budd of Greenback ... and one sister, Beulah Eichelberger, preceded him in death. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at Roberts Funeral Home, 1058 U.S. 250 N., Ashland. The Rev. Bill Schaefer will officiate for the service, The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, Maple Grove Church of the Brethren building fund or Savannah Volunteer Fire Department.
