Ralph B. Pence, 72, died at his home two miles south of Polk on Route 89 at 1:35 p.m. Monday after a lingering illness.

The sone of William and Katherine Bridenstein Pence, he was born in Orange Township on June 6, 1876. He was a life-long resident of Ashland County.

His marriage to Molly Laugher took place in December, 1909. She survives him along with 10 children: Jim Pence, Ashland Route 3, Mrs. Nora Caton of Ashland, Mrs. Katherine Figley of Savannah, Davide Pence of Perrysville, Route 2, Ralph, Jr. of Michigan; Mrs. Mary Warner of Ashland Route 2, Harold and Glenn Pence of Sullivan and Gene and Marjory at home. There are 16 granchildren; a brother, Clyde Pence of Ashland RD 1.

His parents, two children, three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

The body is at the Gilbert Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Rev. Miles Strine will officiate. Burial will be made in Friendsville Cemetery.
