James Earl Fry, 65, Dies Following Lingering IllnessJames Earl Fry, 65, 232 E. Eighth St., died at Samaritan Hospital at 12:40 p.m. Thursday following a lingering illness. The sons of Franklin and Nancy Offineer Fry, he was born in Ashland County Feb. 16, 1891 and lived in the county his entire life. He was a retired city employee and had worked for the City 20 years. He was first married to Etta Keith and later in l935 he was married to Edith Wolf Calhoun, who survives him. Also surviving are three children, Forest of New London, Willard of Shelby, and Mrs. Dorothy Chamberlain of Ashland; two stephchildren, Ralph Calhoun of Ashland, Mrs. Pauline Frontz of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. F.O. Young of Hayesville and a brothers Will Fry of Ashland. A child in infancy, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He attended the First Christian Church, was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and of the Bethany Rebekah lodge of Ashland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Heyl Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Dougherty officiating. Burial will be made in the Ashland Cemetery. The IOOF will conduct graveside services. The family will receive friends at the Heyl Funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening. Source: unknown
