George Allen Markel
(b. 1943, d. Feb. 12, 2000)

George Allen Markel, 57, of LaGrange died Tuesday at Medina General Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Wellington, the son of Oscar and Berneice (sic) Markel.

He lived in the Penfield Township, Welllington and LaGrange areas his entire life.

He was a truck driver delivery lumber with Welco Enterprise in Medina.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Myers Markel, to whom he had been married for 37 years. Also surviving are a daughter, Vickie Evans of Penfield Township; a son, Greg of LaGrange; one grandchild; sisters, Betty Bonewit of Wellington, Lona Mae Paugh of Kaiser, W. Va., and Anna Kimler of Ashland; a brother, Roland of Wellington.

Services were Friday.

Burial was in River Road Cemetery LaGrange.
