Edna E. Markel, 68, of 779 Township Road 1806, RD 6, Ashland, died at her home Sunday following a long illness.

Born in Orange Township, July 27, 1907, she was the daughter of George B. and Mae Sisson Fry. Mrs. Markel was a lifelong resident of Ashland County.

She attended Southview Grace Brethren Church.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Lois) Budd and Mrs. Willis (Mildred) Shouse of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Markel of Wellington and Mrs. Evelyn Czerneik (sic) of Cleveland; two brothers, Mont Fry of Greenwich and Jack Fry of Ashland; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Denbow-Primm Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles M. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Ashland cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
