Alberta MillerAlberta "Betty" Knowlton Fry Miller, 74, of Ashland died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at her residence following a short illness. Mrs. Miller was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Philipsburg, Pa., the daughter of Ruth Askey Johnson. She was an Ashland resident most of her life where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Miller is survived by her six sons, Randy Knowlton of Polk, Wallace Fry of Nova, Earl Fry of Tennessee, Jim Knowlton, Tim Knowlton and Robert Miller, Jr. all of Ashland; 10 daughters, Nancy Griffith, Mary Carmen, Jean Kopp, Kianna Wiers, Brenda Miller, Judy McCardle all of Ashland; Vicky Forbush of Savanna, Cathy Kennel of Shelby, Edna Bellatto of Youngston and Tillie Otterbacker (sic) of Florida; 55 grandchildren, 95 great-granchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; four brothers Earl Johnson of Pennsylvania, James Johnson, Jerry Johnson and Jim Johnson all of New York; and two sisters, Ruthie Marie and Joan McTigue both of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Knowlton in 1954, Jack Fry in 1983 and Robert Miller in 1991. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Samples; infant song Robert Eugene; and her mother. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at the Heyl Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Black officiating. Buriel will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 30, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
